BATTLE
OF THE RECONDITIONING PROCESSES
Frankly,
whether you buy a phone from us or one of our competitors, we all use the
same sources for our phones: auctions, trade-ins, and "decommissions" (old
equipment that's been replaced with newer equipment). Therefore, the
difference between a superior used phone and a crummy one is in the
reconditioning process.
So, what
makes Barclay's reconditioned equipment better than the other guy's... and
what does it mean to you?
|
INDUSTRY STANDARD |
BARCLAY STANDARD |
WHAT DOES OUR PROCESS MEAN TO
YOU? |
|
Industry standard: Wipe down the outside. |
Barclay standard: We don't do
mere wipe downs!
All phones we sell have been
through complete reconditioning and diagnostics.
We
disassemble every used phone and meticulously clean
each piece
inside and out, including the tone pad/keypad and the handset, virtually
sanitizing the entire set. Then, we thoroughly buff and polish
the handset &
housing, resulting in a clean, gleaming, fully reconditioned
telephone... with new
paper and new
cords.

Superior cosmetics... looks
more "like new".
Longer lasting.
About 30% of phone defects we see are from
environmental / human debris inside the phone (e.g., dust, skin,
etc.). If this matter isn't removed from a used phone before you
buy it, it'll shorten your phone's life. Our process removes
it!
More hygienic:
|
 |
Watch out
for cheap used phones sold as "refurbished" but really aren't.
Our refurbishing process goes deep inside the phone to
eliminate all the accumulated
debris that the cheap guys leave behind ---
stuff you may not even see but you definitely don't want to
be near!
And be on the lookout for warranties less than a year.
Remember, if someone's selling a "refurbished" phone for cheap
and with only a 30 day warranty, there's a reason! |
|
|
Industry standard: Make sure it can make and receive calls.
The end.
|
Barclay standard: Once the phone has met our cosmetic standards, we
put it through a stringent evaluation to make sure ALL
functions work (not just dial tone).
First, we run every phone we sell
through our REPAIR DEPARTMENT for a rigorous testing of
ALL functions --- not just dial tone. In fact, our technicians
actually look for defects and repair them, even ones the
average person wouldn't notice at first (such as static).
Even if the unit comes through
with flying colors, our technicians perform preventive maintenance
for problems known to crop up with that model.
Finally, the unit is
independently inspected and tested by our QUALITY ASSURANCE
DEPARTMENT. Again, ALL functions. Only then is it boxed
in a new box and sold. |
Longer lasting, problem-free
phone equipment well beyond the warranty period... better value
dollar for dollar. |
|
What kind of debris? OK, you asked for it. We're talking
about nasty stuff like someone else's ear wax, food crumbs, skin, body oil,
makeup, dried spit from coughing & sneezing, nasal mucous, hairs, nail clippings ... plus
dead bugs, head lice eggs / nymphs, roach eggs & droppings... YUK!
But our used phones are truly reconditioned--- inside & out --- and come to
you "factory fresh" and
YUK-FREE!
